Our Story

I have always had an interest in art, but thankfully I had parents that knew I wasn’t going to be a famous one. And they were right. I had parents that also offered me a brilliant in-state Iowa education and a business degree.

Over ten years ago, I started my career in corporate America. And as much as I coveted my corporate upbringing and the valuable lessons it taught me, when you climb the ladder, it also takes a bit of your individuality. And I had a burning desire to stay real. I wanted an outlet for creativity, authenticity, and I never wanted to lose the feeling that I am designing my life the way I want it. And so Blue Raddish was born online.

In July 2011, Blue Raddish ventured into the retail art world! We purchased an in-the-flesh-storefront in historic downtown Excelsior Springs, Missouri. We claim that Blue Raddish is the narrowest co-op art store on Earth. Well, if not the narrowest, we are darn close at around 9′ – 10′ wide. It’s a converted alley between two buildings!

But the vision of Blue Raddish and Designing Your Life has assembled some of the quirkiest, creative, and wonderful artists throughout the United States.
